UN:Sushma discusses strategic cooperation, trade, development at bilaterals

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met nine leaders from across the globe in a whirlwind of bilateral interactions and spoke at the Nelson Mandela Peace Summity. She began her day on Monday by attending the high-level event on counter-narcotics convened by US President Donald Trump, where she was seated at the front row. India is one of 129 countries that have signed the pledge drafted by Trump on commitment towards international fight against drugs. Although it was not a formal meeting, she greeted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina when she came to the UN, India's Permanent Representative Syed Akbaruddin tweeted. Amit Shah to join BJP Mahila meet at Puri today

BJP national president Amit Shah will inaugurate the three-day national executive meeting of the BJP Mahila Morcha at Puri on Monday. Ahead of executive meeting, Morcha’s national office-bearers’ meeting was held on Sunday evening. France concealing facts on Rafale deal: Congress

After the French government and Dassault Aviation contradicted former President Francois Hollande's claim in choosing Indian industrial partners in the multi-million dollar Rafale jet deal , the Congress on Saturday said the French statement "conceals more than it reveals". "The French statement conceals more than it reveals. The French government knows verbal interactions between former President Francois Hollande and Indian interlocutors are minuted and would emerge. "Speculation of French Parliamentary hearing into Rafale and access to administration documents under France's Freedom of Information Law 1978 rife," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari tweeted. "What French government/corporate entity has just ended up doing is making Rafale procurement a veritable domestic issue in French politics also. India and Pak foreign ministers meeting in New York terrific news

The United States Friday hailed India's acceptance of Pakistani proposal for talks between the foreign ministers on the sidelines of the ongoing annual UN General Assembly session in New York and termed it as a "terrific news". "We saw that (reports of meetings between Indian and Pak leaders). I think that's a terrific news for the Indians and Pakistanis to be able to sit down and have a conversation together," State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert told reporters at her daily news conference. On Thursday, spokesperson, Ministry of External Affairs, Raveesh Kumar announced that India has agreed to a meeting between Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Pakistan's request. He, however, made it clear that it was not the resumption of the Indo-Pak dialogue. Nauert also welcomed the exchange of messages between Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "

BJP to apply ‘T20’ Formula for 2019 Lok Sabha Polls

The  Bharatiya Janata Party   will apply the “T20 formula” to ensure victory in the 2019 general elections, a senior party leader said. The T20 here, differs from the one popular in cricketing parlance as the party has set a target for every worker to visit at least 20 houses in their area and publicise the  Narendra Modi  led government’s achievements while having tea. As the party targets to secure another term, it has asked its workers to promote the government’s achievements to each and every house through “Har Booth Das Youth” (roughly translated as ‘each booth ten youth’), NaMo app contact initiative, and booth ‘toli’, apart from the T20 formula. Suspected oxytocin vials seized from departmental store in Ghazipur

Plastic bottles suspected to be injections of oxytocin, a drug misused by dairy operators and some  farmers , were seized during a surprise check at a departmental store by central drug regulator CDSCO and Delhi Government’s drug Control department in east Delhi, the  Union Health Ministry  said Sunday. A case has been registered against the person who runs the store, which, the ministry said, did not have license to sell or distribute the drug, under provisions of Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940 & Rules, 1945. On Sunday, a surprise check was carried out in chemist shops, departmental stores and dairies in Ghazipur in east  Delhi  by a team of officers of Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation and Drug Control Department, NCT Delhi. Maruti Calls for Clear Stable Policy Framework for Future Mobility

The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India Wednesday called for a clear and stable policy framework to enable the automobile industry to prepare for future mobility. Speaking at the annual convention of Auto Component Manufacturers of India (ACMA), Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa also said India may need a technology neutral approach to meet its energy security goals. "Technologies are big ticket investments for original equipment manufacturer (OEMs) and auto component manufacturers," he said. A short-term, medium-term and long-term policy road map will be useful to plan capacities and align capital investments, Ayukawa added. Stressing on the need for a well defined road map, he said, "A clear and stable policy framework for the new technologies will give confidence to the principal investors in OEMs and component manufacturers." Commenting on new technologies and government's efforts to provide energy sec
